Brandon brings over 11 years of experience practicing law focused on taxation and business matters.
Brandon C. Dixon joined Addicus in 2020 as Chief Counsel, where he leads its Legal Services division. He specializes in taxation and business matters primarily. Brandon also is Founder and Principal of DLF Private Client PLLC. His practice focuses on wealth transfer planning, tax-sensitive business transactions, and tax controversies. Brandon’s expertise lies in finding cost-effective solutions to difficult problems and creating value for clients.
Prior to joining Addicus, Brandon was a Partner with Edmondson Sage Dixon PLLC from 2017 to 2020. Previously, he was a Member of the Sage Dixon Law Firm, PLLC from 2016 to 2017. He was also a Managing Attorney for Barnes Law Firm, P.A. where he worked for close to six years throughout his career.
His experience includes structuring and implementing advanced wealth transfer and estate planning techniques. Brandon has assisted both large and small businesses with mergers and acquisitions, complex commercial transactions, real estate transactions, and securities offerings. He has represented clients in audits and appeals before the IRS, Mississippi Department of Revenue, Mississippi Board of Tax Appeals, and the United States Tax Court.
Brandon is the incoming Chairman for the States & Trust Section of the Mississippi Bar Association. He is an Executive on the Committee of Trust and Estate Section and a Member of The Mississippi Bar Association. He serves as Director on the Board for The Southcentral Kentucky Community and Technical College Foundation, Inc. as well as a Director on the Board for The Lee Eric Drake Foundation, Inc. Brandon is a Member of the American Bar Association, and serves on the Trust & Estates, Business Law, and Tax Sections. He is a Member of Phi Delta Phi. Brandon has earned the Mississippi Bar Estates & Trust Section Award and an American Jurisprudence Award for his Estate & Gift Tax Commercial Paper.
Brandon is a published author, speaker, and subject matter specialist. He has been featured in Tax Notes and has presented countless times on trusts and estates as well as tax and business law matters. Brandon has addressed audiences for the Panola County Bar Association, Mississippi Bar Association Annual Meeting, the Society of CPA’s, and the National Business Institute. He regularly presents on topics eligible for CLE credit.
Brandon is Accredited by the American Bar Association and is licensed to practice law in Mississippi state courts and the United States Tax Court. He earned his LL.M. in Taxation from the University of Florida’s Fredric G. Levin College of Law. He graduated cum laude with his J.D. from Mississippi College School of Law. He earned his Master’s degree in Education Administration from the University of Mississippi and a B.A. in Political Science from Eastern Kentucky University, where he also played football.
